Kufunda Village

A learning village learning our way into healthy and vibrant communities of the future

Welcome to Kufunda Village

Kufunda Village is a learning centre in Zimbabwe.

We are learning our way into what it takes to build healthy and vibrant community.

Our journey is one of exploring and seeking to live what we believe to be possible, perhaps even living the future today.

We care about people creating their own solutions. And about coming together, working with the diversity and wealth that we have, to create what we need. Core to our way of working is The Art of Hosting and Harvesting Meaningful Conversations. We believe that change begins with conscious and confident people, coming together in conversation to explore what matters most to them. Then healthy action can flow.

Through this journey we learnt about the art – and challenge – of creating a culture of learning, and the practices of coming together to foster innovation and creativity in community.

We have discovered many wonderful things about sustainability and working with what we have. We have learnt about eco-building, permaculture, renewable energy, health and healing and much more.

Much of this has been learnt the hard way. With success and failure walking side by side, we have tested and tried our basic beliefs and assumptions,  learning our way into what it means to be a learning community.

We have recommitted in 2013 to really live what we know to be possible at Kufunda today.

And to offering programmes to share that learning with Zimbabweans and beyond.

  8. I found this very interesting. My connections are with local projects in Nigeria and Kenya (which have connections with UK) and there seem to be intriguing similarities (and differences of course). I look forward to following your story and discovering more areas of overlap and possibilities to learn.

  9. I personally seem to agree with pretty much everything that
has been written throughout “Kufunda Learning Village”.

Many thanks for pretty much all the actual advice.

  10. Im loving the eco-building, permaculture and renewable energy. I have a passion for Sustainable Development and Zimbabwe has to start leaning towards that goal. Lived in Ireland for the past 13 years and they drilled SD into us. The fact that in Zim we cant even recycle most of our waste just kills me, we just keep depleting our own resources. Lets recycle our tins, paper etc, energy can be created from all the waste, so much can be done..Something has got to give peoples. I definately have to pay a visit to the village.
